In 2022 my life changed and I left for the mountains...
"If you want someone with patience and who thinks along with you, then Anne is the one to go to!"
- Amber Veldhoen
Origin of passion, school & relocation
I've had a passion for photography my whole life. So when I got my first camera for my 15th birthday, my adventure began. It took a lot of practice, of course, until I had a photoshoot with a dog and was handed my first €20. "For the effort." That's when a lightbulb went off, and I knew I could make this my career. I didn't enjoy working for a boss at all and wanted to use my creativity and do things the way I wanted. I wanted to make a difference for others and saw a future in photography. So I quit my part-time job at a restaurant and started photographing full-time on weekends.
Before I went to vocational college, my business was already growing. Besides dog and horse photography, I also developed a passion for corporate photography. I know better than anyone that corporate photos are incredibly important for boosting your business!
This is also what I help other entrepreneurs with. I focus primarily on small businesses.
I was already in vocational college (16/17 years old) where I was studying Editorial Assistant. In my second year (February 2021), I officially registered my business with the Chamber of Commerce (KVK). Since then, I've been a full-time photographer. No more school for me. Why? Because I want to focus 100% on my business. Entrepreneurship is certainly no stranger to me; my parents used to own a restaurant, and it didn't stop there. In 2022, I embarked on a big adventure. I moved to Austria with my entire family.
I'm originally from the picturesque town of Bergschenhoek, but since August 31, 2022, I've been living part-time in Rinnen, Austria. I lived there with my parents, sister, and dog Saar (a 6-year-old Golden Retriever) until September 2023. In September 2023, my sister decided to return to the Netherlands after a year to continue her studies. This also gave me the opportunity to be back in the Netherlands part-time for photoshoots. It's a real luxury, because from now on, I can live in both countries! I'm incredibly grateful for this, as it allows me to share my work and services.
We emigrated in 2022 because my parents always had a big dream: running their own apartment house! A new adventure, which I was completely ready for, because I never really felt that the Netherlands would be the only place for me. I always knew there was an even better and bigger adventure waiting for me. We've been working on it since the summer of 2021. After much searching, we found the beautiful Mountainlodge Tirol. Curious about our new home? And looking for a great holiday destination in Tyrol? Then visit our website for a glimpse into our Austrian lodges with a modern twist! I've also continued my photography in this beautiful country full of indescribable locations. Dogs are, of course, welcome in our apartment house, and our guests and others love to have their holiday moments captured. My passion for photographing different types of houses also originated here.
Now, after two years, I'm active in both countries as a horse, dog, and corporate photographer! I find it incredibly special to capture people, either alone or with their beloved horse or dog. The connection between human and animal is the most beautiful thing there is! I believe that every animal and person is unique and photogenic. Your memory matters too and shouldn't be held back by fear or insecurity. I'm here to help you with this! Here in Austria, I've continued with photography, of course, but how does this partial change affect all my clients or future clients in the Netherlands? Actually, not much at all! I'm in the Netherlands most of the year and available for photoshoots and workshops. Just send me an email and we'll arrange a date when I'm in the Netherlands, or for German clients, in Austria. How easy is that?

High sensitivity, love for animals & horse riding
In my personal life, I'm anything but patient! I want everything quickly and preferably today rather than tomorrow. I'm also a real perfectionist, and the same applies to my work. But when I'm around animals, I let go of everything and relax. Besides my love for dogs, my love for horses also developed naturally. I'm highly sensitive and used to suffer from it quite a bit. I was looking for an outlet where I could switch off for a few hours and enjoy myself, without being influenced by too much stimulation. I knew I loved animals immensely, so that's why my parents decided to put me on horseback. No sooner said than done. At eight, I started riding. Besides photography, horseback riding is a great passion for me, and I do it with great dedication. From dressage to jumping, I even enjoy carousel riding! That's why I know how to handle horses well during photoshoots. This is, of course, a huge advantage, and clients find it very rewarding.
Photo tour in Austria
A big dream of mine was to one day organize my own photo tour. But the big question was always: where to go? No country really felt like the perfect place—until our move to Austria came our way in 2022. We moved to Rinnen, a charming village near Berwang, in the picturesque Zugspitze Arena.
There, I passionately pursued my photography and quickly discovered how incredibly diverse and impressive the natural environment is. Every time I visited a new location, the same thought crossed my mind: "Wow, I'd love to show this place to other photographers!"
And so the idea for the photo trip was born. My biggest dream came true—and not just like that. I've now proudly organized two successful editions (2024 & 2025), each one magical. This trip is specially designed for both novice and experienced photographers who want to immerse themselves in beautiful nature, photograph unique models, and grow both professionally and personally.
Each location I've selected has been personally visited and critically assessed based on four essential criteria: spaciousness, accessibility, uniqueness, and environment. Only if a venue scores highly on all these fronts will I include it in the program. This way, I can be sure that you, as a participant, will receive only the very best—a fact that has been proven time and again in recent years.
With its breathtaking landscapes, rich culture, and endless photogenic spots, Austria is a true playground for any photographer. For me, it's not only my second home but also the place where dreams come true. And I can't wait to share that magic with you.
