Last August, I had a photoshoot in Austria with Anne, along with my three Salukis. It was my first road trip, and I wanted to capture this wonderful adventure in the country I've been visiting for 30 years.
The day started with bad weather: rain, hail, thunderstorms, and strong winds. Anne and I stayed in close contact, knowing that the weather in Austria can change quickly, so we held out hope. Just before the shoot began, the weather cleared up, and the sun even started shining.
Anne is a fantastic photographer to work with; she gives excellent guidance and takes my wishes into account. And the result? FANTASTIC!! I'm truly thrilled with the final result, highly recommended!

My working method
Step 1 - How do the first steps work?
Once you've booked your photoshoot through the scheduling tool, I'll contact you to discuss any final important points or questions you may have.
Step 3 - Before the photoshoot
I work with a 50% deposit prior to the photoshoot to secure both of our time. I also include all travel expenses in the invoice. This is €0.30 (including VAT) per km from 3053GV (NL) or 6622 (AT). This invoice must be paid 24 hours before the photoshoot. (For information on canceling a photoshoot, read here ).
Step 4 - My dog or horse has difficulty standing still or can become tense quickly, what now?
That doesn't matter at all! I have experience with young, active, and easily tense horses and dogs. We'll try something, and if you, your horse, or your dog don't feel comfortable, we'll stop immediately and try something else! I also carry distractions, like a balloon, which can distract your horse or dog. If you want to avoid your horse or dog getting tense, choose a relaxed location for the shoot where you know they'll be relaxed too. Ideally, this would be at the stable or, for the dog, close to home. Be sure to let me know in advance what I should be aware of.
Step 2 - What should you pay attention to during your photoshoot?
1. Don't wear striped clothes.
2. The most beautiful thing in the photo are soft colors.
Black or dark colors appear harsher.
3. Make sure your pet is completely ready when I arrive. Preparation is key!
4. Make sure your pet looks well-groomed.
Think of: washed & brushed.
5. Know which sounds your animal finds interesting.
I always carry balloons and an umbrella with me to attract extra attention if necessary.
6. There is an option to use my photo halter/line during the shoot.
A photo halter/leash makes your pet appear "off-leash" (I hide the photo halter/leash in Photoshop). Of course, you can also use your own harness or bridle. I don't hide it.
7. It is helpful if you bring a helping hand to the shoot.
They can, for example, take things from you, hold your horse or dog for a moment, but most importantly: distract or call your animal. They can play sounds, for example, so I can focus on the photos!
8. And of course, your good mood and cheerfulness, which I also bring with me!
Step 5 - After the photoshoot
After we've had a fun and, above all, relaxed photoshoot together, you'll receive the order page with the (unedited) photos within 5 business days. I've selected these based on perspective and sharpness.
This number can vary between 100 and 500 photos. You'll also receive a preview of my favorite photo of you. This photo is available for purchase.
You always have the option to order additional edited photos for €30 per photo.
Once you've selected the photos you'd like edited, I'll send you the remaining invoice. This invoice must be paid first. You'll receive the photos digitally within five weeks of paying the invoice. The album will be shipped to you within one and a half months of paying the remaining invoice.
If your photoshoot takes place in June, July, August, or September, the delivery time will be approximately 6 weeks.
I'll keep you updated on the progress of the editing process. You'll also receive a notification when the edited photos are in a separate folder in your personal gallery, where you can download them in various resolutions. I'll clearly explain how to select them in the email! So don't worry!
Furthermore, I really try to put all the effort and love into your photos, to give you an unforgettable memory!

Just how precious is a memory?

A few years ago, my dogs Shadow and Mac modeled for the first time at a photography workshop. Anne was one of the participants. We met Anne as a super fun, cheerful, and spontaneous girl. After the workshop, we received the photos, and Anne's were beautiful! I didn't really understand why she needed a workshop because her work was already good, haha!
We started following each other on Instagram and Facebook. Over time, Shadow also modeled for Anne for her private workshop. It's always so much fun with her, and she's so sweet to the dogs!
Shadow wasn't the easiest person to get along with, but he absolutely loved Anne.
Shadow got sick, and that's why I wanted a photoshoot with him, so that when he's gone, we'll still have beautiful memories. That's why I wanted a photoshoot with Anne—beautiful photos, not awkward to interact with, and Shadow loved her too!
But this wasn't without some hesitation. It was about the money, because a sick dog already costs a lot at the vet. Ultimately, I made the decision, because I think beautiful photos as memories are so important! We received some gorgeous photos. We went to the beach at sunset. We definitely deserved it because, wow, the result is beautiful!
The photoshoot was so much fun; Anne knows exactly how to guide you so you look beautiful and yourself in the photo with your beloved four-legged friend. This made working with Anne feel very natural. We met at a parking lot, and from there we walked to the beach. It was quite a walk, but Anne is a great chatterbox, so that wasn't a problem at all. This also gave Shadow the chance to get used to her presence. Anne communicates clearly during the shoot, which I really appreciate because it allows me to know what's expected and what's best to do. If she has a good image in her lens, she'll definitely let you know, haha!
The most precious thing, of course, are the beautiful photos I have, mainly of Shadow. Shadow and Mac sadly passed away; within four months, I lost both my friends. This was, and still is, very sad. I look back at the photos every day. To this day, I also find it incredibly sad that we didn't have a private photoshoot with Mac. Unfortunately, Mac was having a lot of trouble with his legs, which made this impossible. He eventually got better, but he was suddenly taken from our lives.
So, if you're planning a photoshoot with your dog, don't hesitate and do it before it's too late. It could be over in an instant...

Hi, I'm Anne!
I am Anne, 22 years old and a Rotterdam photographer with a big dose of passion for photography (and love for animals).
I've been riding horses for 14 years and grew up with dogs, so it was no surprise that they are the ones I love most in front of my lens.
And that constant "my pet isn't photogenic"? I don't believe that at all.
Every animal has its own magic and I make sure that it really becomes visible on screen.

A holiday memory
Last September, we went on holiday with our Golden Balou for the first time, traveling to Rinnen, Austria, to stay at the beautiful Mountain Lodge. To make our holiday even more special, we booked a photoshoot with Anne. In the run-up to our holiday to beautiful Rinnen, we were lucky enough to get pregnant. We wanted nothing more than to have this surprise captured in a beautiful photo on holiday so we could announce our pregnancy to family and friends after our holiday. When Anne heard about it, she immediately wanted to help us, and we were able to take several beautiful photos during the photoshoot related to our pregnancy. The weather threw a wrench in the works for a while, but Anne and I quickly found a solution and returned to the photoshoot location early the next day to finish the shoot. We were thrilled with the outcome! After our holiday, we received the photos and were absolutely thrilled with the results! Even when announcing our pregnancy with one of the photos, we only received But we received lovely responses. We're so happy we booked a photoshoot with Anne and are very grateful for these beautiful photos as a reminder of this special holiday.
