I was thinking of a Blackshoot with a black horse? Well, thankfully, I went ahead with it. They turned out beautifully. The shoot was also really fun. Anne is sweet and patient, and knows about horses, which is wonderful. I felt completely at ease, and so did the horse. I always find having my picture taken intimidating, and I get shy. Looking at the photos, you wouldn't think so, which is surprising. I took more than I intended; there are so many beautiful ones to choose from. They're worth it, a gift for myself, a precious memory of a wonderful time.

My working method
Step 1 - How do the first steps work?
Once you've booked your photoshoot through the scheduling tool, I'll contact you to discuss any final important points or questions you may have.
Step 3 - Before the photoshoot
For horses, the location can simply be the stable. I work with a black cloth on a large tripod. It's important that your horse isn't afraid of this. If necessary, practice with your own cloth hung over a stable. This doesn't apply to dogs, of course. If your dog is still a puppy or easily tense, we'll naturally proceed with caution. For your dog, the location can simply be your garden (a reasonably large one), somewhere on your street, or a business premises. As long as I can be sheltered from the wind (for both horse and dog) and have some nice light, I'll check the wind speed (and the other weather conditions) one last time 12 hours beforehand to see if the shoot is possible. If this isn't possible, we'll schedule a new date. I work with a 50% deposit prior to the photoshoot to guarantee both our time. I'll also include all travel expenses in the invoice. This is €0.30 (including VAT) per km from 3053GV (NL) or 6622 (AT). This invoice must be paid 24 hours before the photoshoot. (For information on canceling a photoshoot, read here ).
Step 4 - My dog or horse has difficulty standing still or can become tense quickly, what now?
That doesn't matter at all! I have experience with young, active, and easily tense horses and dogs. We'll try something, and if you, your horse, or your dog don't feel comfortable, we'll stop immediately and try something else! I also carry distractions, like a balloon, which can distract your horse or dog. If you want to avoid your horse or dog getting tense, choose a relaxed location for the shoot where you know they'll be relaxed too. Ideally, this would be at the stable or, for the dog, close to home. Be sure to let me know in advance what I should be aware of.
Step 2 - What should you pay attention to during your photoshoot?
1. Don't wear striped clothes.
2. The most beautiful thing in the photo are soft colors.
Black or dark colors appear harsher.
3. Make sure your pet is completely ready when I arrive. Preparation is key!
4. Make sure your pet looks well-groomed.
Think of: washed & brushed.
5. Know which sounds your animal finds interesting.
I always carry balloons and an umbrella with me to attract extra attention if necessary.
6. There is an option to use my photo halter/line during the shoot.
A photo halter/leash makes your pet appear "off-leash" (I hide the photo halter/leash in Photoshop). Of course, you can also use your own harness or bridle. I don't hide it.
7. It is helpful if you bring a helping hand to the shoot.
They can, for example, take things from you, hold your horse or dog for a moment, but most importantly: distract or call your animal. They can play sounds, for example, so I can focus on the photos!
8. And of course, your good mood and cheerfulness, which I also bring with me!
Step 5 - After the photoshoot
After we've had a fun and, above all, relaxed photoshoot together, you'll receive the order page with the (unedited) photos within 5 business days. I've selected these based on perspective and sharpness.
This number can vary between 100 and 500 photos. You'll also receive a preview of my favorite photo of you. This photo is available for purchase.
You always have the option to order additional edited photos for €30 per photo.
Once you've selected the photos you'd like edited, I'll send you the remaining invoice. This invoice must be paid first. You'll receive the photos digitally within five weeks of paying the invoice. The album will be shipped to you within one and a half months of paying the remaining invoice.
If your photoshoot takes place in June, July, August, or September, the delivery time will be approximately 6 weeks.
I'll keep you updated on the progress of the editing process. You'll also receive a notification when the edited photos are in a separate folder in your personal gallery, where you can download them in various resolutions. I'll clearly explain how to select them in the email! So don't worry!
Furthermore, I really try to put all the effort and love into your photos, to give you an unforgettable memory!

Themes within the blackshoots for horses
Christmas wreaths
The black shoots with the Christmas wreaths begin around late October/early November. These spots are very popular, so be sure to book early. The same packages apply for this themed shoot, and the wreaths are included. You can choose from: pink, brown, green, blue, red, gold, silver, champagne, and the traditional Christmas colors. (See the color examples below and on my Instagram/Facebook!) You can use multiple wreaths within your shoot time. This will, of course, deduct from your shoot time, and it's not recommended, especially with the mini shoots, but it is possible.
Mini shoots at the stable
You can also book this themed shoot with your stablemates. Send me an email and let me know how many people want a mini-shoot (minimum 3), the number of horses/people per rider, and I'll create a great promotional price per person. The shoot time per duo is always 30 minutes, with mini-shoots at the stable.

Gold leaf
You can also book a black shoot with gold leaf. I have three different gold leaf options: gold, silver, and rose. The same packages apply for the gold leaf. Gold leaf is incredibly cool and totally up-and-coming!
She took time for my pets!
I planned a Christmas photoshoot with Anne and my dogs and ponies. I have a 10-year-old dog and a 38-year-old Shetland pony. Because these are really old, I took on the challenge of getting all four in one photo, and it worked. I was quite apprehensive about taking the plunge, considering the cost, location, temperature, and how well four animals could fit in one photo. Not everyone is looking forward to this, as you have to be quite patient. But it was fantastic. Anne put me at ease and took her time with me and my pets. Because my old dog was cold and I had a blanket, it wasn't a problem. Anne was very kind to my pets, which makes me feel good because my pets are truly my children. My little piebald pony was quite annoying and pulled the Christmas ornaments off Irma's wreath, but luckily we could laugh about it together. She's a really nice girl, and I definitely recommend her. A memory for life.

We take our time, especially during the first meeting with your dog or horse. Because it has to be a pleasant experience for them too. No stress, no rush, just peace, trust, and a pleasant atmosphere.
Many people appreciate that I offer different packages with varying numbers of photos and corresponding time durations. This allows you to choose what suits you best. Customization is also possible. Flexible, fast, and personal contact? That's just part of the deal. Is your animal sick or is the end approaching? Then I'll make room. I'll gladly reschedule my private appointments so that you don't have to miss out on those last precious memories.
And don't worry if your dog or horse has a short attention span; believe me, I know all about that. I always say: give me three seconds, and I'll have ten beautiful images. Spontaneity is where the magic lies: no forced poses, just real moments.
During the shoot, we move to several locations so that you will have a beautiful and varied selection of photos to choose from.

Hi, I'm Anne!
I am Anne, 22 years old and a Rotterdam photographer with a big dose of passion for photography (and love for animals).
I've been riding horses for 14 years and grew up with dogs, so it was no surprise that they are the ones I love most in front of my lens.
And that constant "my pet isn't photogenic"? I don't believe that at all.
Every animal has its own magic and I make sure that it really becomes visible on screen.
Besides animals, I also photograph entrepreneurs who are ready for the next step: professional photos that reflect who you are, so your company is visible and customers recognize your brand/company.

I'm thrilled with the photos! I really wanted beautiful photos of my horses, but especially because of Lucky, who's now 33, and I wanted to have a wonderful memory of him!
